Downtown scene staple, Newtype architect and Your Friend, Shibascream has rapidly established himself as a mover and shaker around town! While you can usually catch him spinning House at Patron Saint, he's putting together a special drum & bass set just for the night. He's prepping to take us fully over the rainbow with it so make sure you come prepared for gold.

Superior noise maker and archivist of all things bassy on Tuesdays at The Mel, Sea Monkey is making his inaugural appearance at Coterie! You will often hear members of NAPDNB telling folks they'd listen to Sea Monkey spin remixes of Sesame Street songs and that is not a joke in any way. His musical selections span not only genre but space and time. You never know what you're going to get but you can rest assured that it will be sonic bliss, expertly crafted by a human with impeccable taste and respect for the music. His love of dnb is clearly articulated in his sets and has been known to turn the non-believers into true blue Junglists. Come get converted, don't miss this set!

Part of the State Street Club Crew, Tonic Clonic is dropping in to bless us with some of his feet twisting Footwork! When you're looking for something to do on First Fridays, State Street Club should be at the top of list of spots to hit. A super night of House and Techno predominantly, they're never afraid to push the edges of the definition of what that means. One of our favorite sets from Tonic Clonic was a super slowed down jam sesh with GNZ playing all of the pop hits of the 90s we grew up from their legit personal CD collections. The weird, sludgy opening set kicked the door wide open for experimentation throughout the night and gave the room a welcoming vibe to truly express yourself no matter your style. Bringing that same sense of experimentation to Coterie, Tonic Clonic is sure to put your feet through their paces with the ferocity of Footwork (and if we're really blessed, maybe he'll drop in a wee bit of Jungle)!

Last but certainly not least, No Secrets head honcho Curtis Jones is joining us to bring in the hot House heat! The most recent edition to The Melody Inn Dance Music family, his vision for House keeps it deep in the underground. With releases on Guerilla Noise, Noize Bangers and self-releases, Curtis has been steady grinding to establish himself as a force within the genre. His Miami upbringing flavors his tunes and makes them all feel like sunshine, which is much needed during our bleak Midwest winters! Some come catch some rays and we dance the night away!!
